Affordable School Visits offered by the Insectarium of Victoria 

The Insectarium of Victoria located in Woodend, Victoria is currently closed for rebuilding. However we can bring a collection of live insects and other invertebrates ‘minibeasts‘ to your classroom.

We  offer affordable one hour ‘hands-on’ educational sessions to students from pre-school to secondary age. 

The content of each session is flexible and can be tailored to suit any current theme.

Generally students handle the live insects and other invertebrates and explore:

• What is an insect/invertebrate, and how to recognise the different groups

• How do insects/invertebrates move, see, eat, smell and hear

• What role do insects play in our world

Each session is one hour, with a maximum 30 students per session and a maximum of 5 one hour sessions in one day.

Rates as of Jan 2016:

• $240 for 1 one hour session

• $400 for 2 one hour sessions

• $540 for 3 one hour sessions

• $660 for 4 one hour sessions

• $780 for 5 one hour sessions

 

There is a surcharge of .80c/km for distances over 60km from Woodend.

NOTE: Session Prices can be reduced and Travel Costs shared, by working in with other schools/pre schools in your area.

All prices quoted exclude GST.
